The whipped cream for the cheesecake was delightful. It was such fresh cream.

Also the bacon cut was fabulous too

We tried all three cuts. Fillet and sirloin from the porterhouse steak for two. And ordered a rib steak on the side.

Best steak in the world no exaggeration. It was mind blowing. From the minute you take a bite, you will never have steak like it again. It was absolutely amazing. It just melts in your mouth with so much flavour and juices.

I have been going to this steakhouse on & off for well over 25 years, so it's about time for a review. What can I say???? This place is awesome!!!!! The availability & prices are probably a turnoff for many, but I don't care about that....I love this place. It's been crowded every time I've been there, but we always manage to get a seat right away or wait for a few minutes. Making a reservation definitely helps. The waiters are top notch. They definitely know what they're doing & have a good sense of humor. Also, the food is to die for. My family & I went last month for my son's birthday, and we again had an amazing time. We were able to find free street parking right around the corner, and enjoyed the meal of a lifetime. How can I not recommend this outstanding restaurant????!!!!

Place is a legend. But is it stands against its fame? Yes and no.This is very hyped restaurant. Always packed. Walk-in service almost doesn't exist. Average Joe must reserve the spot with 4-6 weeks notice(if you are lucky).Top of that, service is not what is the best here.I had a feeling of judging look on every step.Place is very raw...Wooden tables, chairs and almost no decoration.Cash or debit ONLY.After all its a place with tradition...and it feels like. But all above doesn't matter. After all,we are coming there for steaks, right? We ordered steak for two and some overpriced sides.Best part-how meat is served.Comes on the thick china platter sizzling hot.Do yourself a favor and let the server get first pieces on your plate. It is very hot.Steak itself was very good.Big, thick and grilled to perfection(medium rare). However when You hear/read about the place so much, you expect more. You expect WOW.And that part is missing.Peter Luger steaks are missing "WOW FACTOR".This is not a first steakhouse we visited in NYC.I have to say-I had better grilled meat in my life.So If you are looking for the best steak in NYC, do yourself the favor and look somewhere else.If You want to visit Peter Luger as part of NYC visit experience.Go for it.Place is unique and dinner there will not be forgettable. One more thing, restaurant has big and fantastic deserts.Warm apple strudel was spectacular.Server with huge bowl(!) of homemade whipped cream(they call it "schlag")."Holy Cow" hot fudge sundae was also amazing.I guess, the best reason to visit Peter Luger are deserts...No,not only that.Just keep in mind, while you enjoy your perfect steak, there is dessert not to miss, coming.

Sirloin being a nice meaty chew

We came twice because we couldn't wait at least two hours for a table the first time we got here, so we made a reservation for our second visit in person. I recommend making your reservation in person if you can - they rarely have time to take your call because they're either on the phone for a very long time or they're just simply too busy. The food was really worth the hype and the wait though, especially the steak. Order with caution because the portions are crazy big! We had the Holy Cow Sundae and it was enormous and delicious, a perfect ending to the steak and creamy spinach. The spinach may look all mushy, but trust me, it melts in your mouth and goes well with the meat.

Fillet being the softest and good taste

We had the blue cheese salad starter. Really made me enjoy salad. Great taste.

Overall I wish I could go here every month but not living in New York makes that impossible.

Rib just amazing. It has a higher fat content so the fat just melted. If you like a fatty steak rib is your man but soft would be the fillet bit of the porterhouse.

Porter house done one way and it's incredible. Make sure to get it rare. It goes back in the broiler after it's cut so more than that I feel it's overcooked. This is just pure classic nothing fancy about it just wonderful tasting steaks. Bacon is awesome don't forget to try it. Service was great. Had a great chat with one of the waiters on all the great steaks in NYC and he shuck my hand at the end.
