Wellhouse is now open as a restroom. Why it took the city 4 years (maybe longer; I lost count) to complete a relatively straightforward job is a mystery as there have never been any explanations offered. But it's done at last and nice to have. It would be good to provide some info on the well house and the well and pumping system, why it was discontinued, and what is present in the public water supply water that produces all this duckweed and algae in the lake and lullwater. Also it is apparently a composting toilet; no info about that either. What about reinstating the well for the park's water features rather than using water supply from upstate? Maybe some info on the costs/benefits of using pumped groundwater versus water supply? Seems like a teachable moment, folks!
The Wellhouse is closed and the area is under construction.
They've placed two benches in front of the building where you can sit and look out at the lake. Very nice especially as benches are scarce along the paths and roadways in this part of the park.
Recently renovated public bathroom in the park, can't complain about that! Last I was here could have used a little maintenance but that's to be expected.
Newly (and finally) open. Composting toilets. Clean, at least the last time I was there, and they’ve added signage to explain the building, the composting, and some history.
Great composting toilets!
