I have to give this location one star, reason is because a lady with blond short hair is really rude. The Associate there are really friendly. The clothing is amazing. What I don't Like about this location specifically is how White Privilege is used in this location. For example, i when to return a pair of denim that i paid 128, i had to go through a process of getting ID asking if i really bought the denim. As for the white woman who was next to me was retuning one of the expensive leather jacket who didn't have a receipt, wasn't question or ask for her ID. The caucasian lady basically got away with that. As for me i had a receipt and everything and i was still being question. I think that it sad that we live in the most diverse area WHICH IS NEW YORK!!!!!!!!! and we still have to deal with store like this questioning people of color. I think that Madewell is an amazing store. But hiring people that come from a small town that are only use to racist Caucasian make the store look bad they need to be open minded to other colors is not only white people.
I thought I was the only one that thought that Christina sucks. Glad to know that the other four reviews said the same thing.
I had called ahead to see if a black leather phone case was in stock, the associate accidentally told me yes when in fact they were out. I arrived after driving across brooklyn and the second the mix up was realized, Christine who I can only hope is the manager, was on it. She went above and beyond customer service personally making sure I got what I needed. She was not only friendly and polite but professional and extremely helpful. I have lived in NYC two years now and have NEVER seen such helpful friendly, bend over backwards service. I was so grateful because what she didn't realize is how important even a small thing like a phone case is to me. Mine was falling apart and I loved that she took even the smallest purchase seriously. Best customer service ever.
The manager Christina is extremely rude, won't be shopping at this location.
Their customer service is lacking and I've given this location many chances because it's so close to me. I can walk in here wearing madewell from head to toe and I still hardly get acknowledged.
